Thanksgiving, Christmas and a new year. :)
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with Andre’s family in NC and an extended visit with his parents and brother here at our house.
December was a whirlwind. We had a family Christmas here and traveled to NM to spend Christmas with my family. We were gone 3 1/2 weeks (I feel like I am still trying to get everything caught back up), but it was so great! We really enjoyed getting to spend extra time with my family and they loved having the kids there for so long. We got home the first week of January and hit the ground running.
The kids are growing so fast and learning new things way too fast. Joshua’s favorite thing to say when we tell him something: “what? you kidding me!” and “actually”. He loves to ride his bike around the house. I am ready for the weather to stay warm so he can ride it outside. We really enjoyed the taste of spring we had last week. He loves to ‘make’ music. He bangs on his drums (buckets) or plays his guitar (his broom). He sings his heart out when he isn’t doing sound effects. We are still working on potty training. He pretty much has all his colors down and can count to 10. He can sing his abc’s up to P, then he just starts rambling.
He loves to talk. He is such a joy and so much fun!
Kallie thinks she should be touching Andre or I at all times. She is content to sit and play as long as I am sitting next to her or she is in my arms. The other time she is happy is if she is watching silly songs with Larry. She loves her veggie tales. She is a very curious little girl. Her little hands are very fast.
Most things that get in her hands goes in her mouth.
She loves to be kissed and hugged and loves to kiss and hug back. She delights in her family and people she knows. She is precious.
We are looking forward to having some guests over the next few weeks. We have several friends and family members coming to see us! We love having people here.
So there is an update on our lives for the past few months. Hope you enjoyed reading it.
October 2010
So…
I am trying to be better at this blogging thing.
At least give little updates about the kids.
Joshua’s latest thing is when he is looking for something to get into (you parents know the look I am talking about) and Andre asks him what he is doing, his reply is “looking for baby Kallie’s paci”. Here’s the thing: A. We are rarely looking for Kallie’s paci. B. He only tells Andre this. I think he thinks it’s his free ticket to get into things. It’s not working so well for him.
Today he was going upstairs to get his paci (which he is only allowed to have at bedtime and naptime) and I asked him as he was going up the stairs, “Joshua, where are you going?” he turned grinned at me and said “The Bass Pro Shop”. I’m not sure how the Bass Pro Shop ended upstairs in our house, but he did not make it there.
Mom caught him. He does ask to go to the Bass Pro Shop about once a week. He learned how to wink this week. Cutest thing ever. I am hoping to get a picture of it. He thinks every bath should be a bubble bath.
I am looking for some fall craft ideas for a 2 year old, more Thanksgiving type crafts. Any ideas? We started going through the Beginners Bible and doing a craft that goes along with whatever story we are reading in it (mostly gluing things on a picture we color). He is loving it! I need to buy some glitter.
Kallie has learned she has a voice and can control the volume and pitch. Our house is a lot louder.
It is mostly sweet squeals but occasionally she yells for attention.
Josh is always finding ways to make her laugh. She adores him.
She has started slobbering on our face in return for kisses. She grins after she slobbers all over us. It is so sweet. She loves her baths.
I guess that’s good for now.
Have a great rest of your week!

I hope to get pictures up on picasa soon. I plan to update this year a little more frequently.
A little more personal note on how we are all doing:
Andre is busy working full time from home doing web development. It is going great. He has more work than he knows what to do with.
He is enjoying being a dad (and is an amazing one at that, I might add). He is the “media guy” at church and that keeps him busy too.
Trina is busy working full time at home taking care of two kids and Andre.
She loves her job! This past pregnancy was a bit hard with morning sickness and fatigue but it was well worth it!
She is feeling great and working hard to loose those extra baby pounds. She is a discussion group leader in her MOPS group and is loving it.
Joshua is growing so fast! He loves his little sister and is always helping take care of her. He gives her hundreds of kisses everyday. He says and does some of the funniest things and keeps us laughing and on our toes constantly. He is talking all the time and has a huge imagination. He loves to play with his cars and line them all up in a row (and then says all lined up). He never gets bored playing with his ball or watching curious George. His favorite places to go are the Bass Pro Shop (he asks to go at least once a week), Best Buy (gets really excited when he sees the sign), Sonic for “happy buice” as he calls it (we went there quite a bit this summer while Trina was pregnant, cherry limeades tasted really good to her
) and Chick-fil-a. We are working on potty training. It’s going pretty good.
Kallie is growing really fast as well. We can’t believe she is 3 months old! She is cooing and smiling at anyone who will talk to her. She likes to wear ridiculous bows on her head and lots of pink. She loves to play patty-cake. She is a happy baby and pretty laid back for the most part. She has learned to sleep through her brother’s loudness. She likes to be held so she is sitting up and can see what is going on. She loves to watch her brother play with his cars.
So there is the update you have all been holding your breath for…
Happy fall!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MY LOVE!
It is hard to believe it has been 2 years. They have gone by so fast. I guess it’s true that time flies when you are having fun, because they have been the most fun! Two years ago today I said “I do” to the man of my dreams. It has been an adventure for sure!
Andre, I just wanted to tell you in front of the world (ok, so I know the world doesn’t read our blog but lets just pretend they do today) what an amazing husband you have been to me. The way you love me is so Christ-like! You are so patient and sacrificing. I love the way you hold me when I cry or how you are always looking for ways to make my day better or easier. When I am sick you take care of me. It makes me feel special the way you have made it a point to take me out at least one meal a week to let me have a break from cooking. You always pick up Joshua’s toys before going to bed so I start the next day out with a clean living room. You are an amazing encourager. You always have a kind word to say if I have had a rough day. You are a great provider and manage our money so well! I picked a ‘good one’! Thank you for being such a godly husband!
You are setting such an wonderful example to our son on how to care for his mom (and later, sisters and wife)! Like the way he comes over when I sit down and starts trying to massage my feet like his daddy does. He is such a loving little boy and I know it is because he sees and experiences his dad being a very loving man.
You are my best friend. It is so much fun to spend everyday with your best friend! I didn’t think it was possible but I love you so much more today than the day I married you. I continue to fall deeper in love with you everyday!
I LOVE YOU!!!

walking down life's road together
2 Years and Counting
730 days ago, I began my life with a beautiful woman whose talents, love, and caring devotion continually amaze me with each passing day. I truly continue to fall even more in love, and grow into better friends. It is a priceless gift to have someone to hold during smooth sailing and rough waters. I have been tremendously blessed and on this, our second anniversary I praise my wife for her faithful love and joyous companionship. You are such a blessing and treasure and I am so grateful for you!!!
I Love You Sweetie!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Wow. I have not posted on here since the new year post… I am kinda behind. Lets catch up. An abbreviated version:
We had a wonderful visit with Andre’s parents, brother and both sets of his grandparents in March.
Joshua started crawling somewhere during this time.
In April Joshua and I went to NM for a visit to my family. We had a great time! Aprill also came to see us!
May was really busy. We had quite a bit of company and just a good time. We had a great time celebrating Andre’s birthday!
In June Joshua turned 1! We had a party for him and he loved the cake! I have pics somewhere that I will upload soon.
July included another visit to NM to celebrate the 4th, my dad’s 50th b-day, church camp and the Shaw family reunion! It was super packed but so much fun!
The first week of August was the sadest week of the year for us. Our very dear friend (more like a sister to Andre and I and Aunt to Joshua) moved away. It was very hard. We know that it was God’s plan and wish her the best, but she sure is missed!!! On to a better note, Tyler came to see us and hung out for about 5 days. Andre was in a good friend’s wedding in DC. Joshua’s two top front teeth came in. We celebrated my last birthday in the 20s (I feel old just saying that
).
JOSHUA STARTED WALKING!!!
*takes a breath*
Ok now we are caught up!
September is going well (all 6 days so far)
We are looking forward to a trip to Maine later in the month to see Andre’s parents and family. Josh is really working on that walking thing.
He still loves books and his favorite toys are his cars, ball and stackable cups. He jabbers all the time, sometimes we can understand him, but most of the time not.
As I right this he is reading a book to himself. It is really cute! His favorite foods are bananas, pasta of any kind, goldfish, graham crackers, green beans, chicken and potatoes. He loves chick-fil-a, not that he has a choice, seeing as how his mom fed him a lot of it before he was born.
He really loves to eat and gets very excited about his food.
Andre’s job has changed a lot. I will let him tell you about that.
I am still staying busy at home. I am more than likely going to start babysitting a little girl (some friends of ours) two afternoons a week. Her name is Lucy and she is adorable. I am looking forward to MOPS starting back up in a couple of weeks.
Ok, I am going to sign off, but before I do, I put up new pictures from the last 4 months at http://picasaweb.google.com/erdnapc. Enjoy!

I know, I know. It has been forever since we have put a post up here!
To help you wait until we get our act together… I have posted pictures here

A New Year!
Hi Everyone,
I figured it was time for a new post.
We very much enjoyed our Holidays and seeing lots of family. Thanksgiving was spent with Andre’s parents John and Donna, brother Luke and Uncle Brent, Aunt Annette and Cousin Joan in Ohio. We had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed an early Christmas celebration with them.
We spent Christmas in New Mexico with my family. Joshua and I were able to go out early (Colton flew out to fly back with us). Andre came out to join us a little later. It was wonderful to see all my family and meet my new little nephew Caden Levi. Both sets of grandparents were able to meet Joshua for the first time along with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joshua did great flying!
After we got home, we worked on getting well (we picked up some sort of bug while there) and resting. We are still working on getting on a good schedule. Joshua has decided that he does not want to sleep through the night anymore… We are working on trying different things to get that to happen. In the meantime, I am quite exhausted.
I have defiantly been taking a nap in the morning when he takes his morning nap.
I am really enjoying my MOPs group! It has been a lot of fun to get to know some other moms at our church. It has been very encouraging and uplifting. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it has been a pleasant surprise. The topics are always so helpful and encouraging. They are full of God’s truth.
Being a wife and mom is truly amazing. I am loving every minute of both of those responsibilities. Is it always easy? No. Is life perfect? No. Do I always do a great job? No. But God is so faithful, my husband is very gracious, and Joshua is just a bundle of joy.
I am so blessed!
Joshua will post soon with all this new accompishments. I don’t want to steal his thunder.
We might have some new pictures up by then too! (I am so not good at putting up new pics…)
I won’t give an update on Andre and maybe he will post one soon
(I love you, honey!)
Until next time…

Scribbles from the little guy…
Hello friends,
Guess what?!?!?! I rolled over for the first time last night all by myself! Daddy and Mommy were so proud of me (I was proud of myself too
). Life is going great. I still love eating.
I like Daddy and Mommy to rock me too. For some reason my gums hurt a lot and I started drooling all over everying. Mommy says it is because I am teething, whatever that means. I like to be held and talked to. I will smile at anyone who stops to talk to me (unless I am being grumpy, which doesn’t happen very often). I like to laugh when people are being silly. I wonder if grown-ups know how silly they look when they are talking to me, especially Daddy and Mommy? They use silly voices, stick out there tongues and make funny noises.
It makes me laugh so hard. I got a new swing! I love it!!! Mommy likes to put me in there when I am fussy while she is trying to cook dinner. I usually fall asleep in it. I almost forgot to tell you, at my last Doctor’s appointment I weighed 15lbs! Speaking of the Doctor, that guy likes to poke me, shine lights in my eyes and move me all around. I am still trying to decided if i like him, but Daddy and Mommy do, so I guess he is ok. Well, Mommy says it is time to go fix dinner, so that means swinging time for me. Yipee!
You all have a great day!
-Joshua
PS. Mommy entered my photo here, please go vote for me.
