HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MY LOVE!

September 22nd, 2009

It is hard to believe it has been 2 years. They have gone by so fast. I guess it’s true that time flies when you are having fun, because they have been the most fun! Two years ago today I said “I do” to the man of my dreams. It has been an adventure for sure!

Andre, I just wanted to tell you in front of the world (ok, so I know the world doesn’t read our blog but lets just pretend they do today) what an amazing husband you have been to me.  The way you love me is so Christ-like! You are so patient and sacrificing. I love the way you hold me when I cry or how you are always looking for ways to make my day better or easier. When I am sick you take care of me. It makes me feel special the way you have made it a point to take me out at least one meal a week to let me have a break from cooking.  You always pick up Joshua’s toys before going to bed so I start the next day out with a clean living room.  You are an amazing encourager.  You always have a kind word to say if I have had a rough day. You are a great provider and manage our money so well! I picked a ‘good one’! Thank you for being such a godly husband!

You are setting such an wonderful example to our son on how to care for his mom (and later, sisters and wife)! Like the way he comes over when I sit down and starts trying to massage my feet like his daddy does. He is such a loving little boy and I know it is because he sees and experiences his dad being a very loving man.

You are my best friend. It is so much fun to spend everyday with your best friend! I didn’t think it was possible but I love you so much more today than the day I married you. I continue to fall deeper in love with you everyday!

I LOVE YOU!!!

2 Years and Counting

Day 1 :)

730 days ago, I began my life with a beautiful woman whose talents, love, and caring devotion continually amaze me with each passing day. I truly continue to fall even more in love, and grow into better friends. It is a priceless gift to have someone to hold during smooth sailing and rough waters. I have been tremendously blessed and on this, our second anniversary I praise my wife for her faithful love and joyous companionship. You are such a blessing and treasure and I am so grateful for you!!!

I Love You Sweetie!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Wow. I have not posted on here since the new year post… I am kinda behind.  Lets catch up. An abbreviated version:

We had a wonderful visit with Andre’s parents, brother and both sets of his grandparents in March.

Joshua started crawling somewhere during this time.

In April Joshua and I went to NM for a visit to my family. We had a great time! Aprill also came to see us! :)

May was really busy. We had quite a bit of company and just a good time.  We had a great time celebrating Andre’s birthday! :)

In June Joshua turned 1! We had a party for him and he loved the cake!  I have pics somewhere that I will upload soon.

July included another visit to NM to celebrate the 4th, my dad’s 50th b-day, church camp and the Shaw family reunion! It was super packed but so much fun!

The first week of August was the sadest week of the year for us. Our very dear friend (more like a sister to Andre and I and Aunt to Joshua) moved away. It was very hard. We know that it was God’s plan and wish her the best, but she sure is missed!!! On to a better note, Tyler came to see us and hung out for about 5 days. Andre was in a good friend’s wedding in DC. Joshua’s two top front teeth came in. We celebrated my last birthday in the 20s (I feel old just saying that :-P ).

JOSHUA STARTED WALKING!!! :)

*takes a breath*

Ok now we are caught up! :)

September is going well (all 6 days so far) :) We are looking forward to a trip to Maine later in the month to see Andre’s parents and family.  Josh is really working on that walking thing. :) He still loves books and his favorite toys are his cars, ball and stackable cups. He jabbers all the time, sometimes we can understand him, but most of the time not. :) As I right this he is reading a book to himself.  It is really cute! His favorite foods are bananas, pasta of any kind, goldfish, graham crackers, green beans, chicken and potatoes. He loves chick-fil-a, not that he has a choice, seeing as how his mom fed him a lot of it before he was born. :)  He really loves to eat and gets very excited about his food. :)

Andre’s job has changed a lot. I will let him tell you about that. :)

I am still staying busy at home. I am more than likely going to start babysitting a little girl (some friends of ours) two afternoons a week. Her name is Lucy and she is adorable. I am looking forward to MOPS starting back up in a couple of weeks.

Ok, I am going to sign off, but before I do, I put up new pictures from the last 4 months at http://picasaweb.google.com/erdnapc. Enjoy!

A New Year!

February 9th, 2009

Hi Everyone,

I figured it was time for a new post.  :) We very much enjoyed our Holidays and seeing lots of family. Thanksgiving was spent with Andre’s parents John and Donna, brother Luke and Uncle Brent, Aunt Annette and Cousin Joan in Ohio. We had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed an early Christmas celebration with them.

We spent Christmas in New Mexico with my family.  Joshua and I were able to go out early (Colton flew out to fly back with us). Andre came out to join us  a little later. It was wonderful to see all my family and meet my new little nephew Caden Levi. Both sets of grandparents were able to meet Joshua for the first time along with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Joshua did great flying!

After we got home, we worked on getting well (we picked up some sort of bug while there) and resting. We are still working on getting on a good schedule. Joshua has decided that he does not want to sleep through the night anymore…  We are working on trying different things to get that to happen. In the meantime, I am quite exhausted.  :) I have defiantly been taking a nap in the morning when he takes his morning nap. :)

I am really enjoying my MOPs group! It has been a lot of fun to get to know some other moms at our church. It has been very encouraging and uplifting.  I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it has been a pleasant surprise. The topics are always so helpful and encouraging. They are full of God’s truth.

Being a wife and mom is truly amazing. I am loving every minute of both of those responsibilities. Is it always easy? No.  Is life perfect? No.  Do I always do a great job? No. But  God is so faithful,  my husband is very gracious, and Joshua is just a bundle of joy.  :) I am so blessed!

Joshua will post soon with all this new accompishments. I don’t want to steal his thunder. :) We might have some new pictures up by then too! (I am so not good at putting up new pics…) :P

I won’t give an update on Andre and maybe he will post one soon ;) (I love you, honey!)

Until next time…

Scribbles from the little guy…

November 5th, 2008

Hello friends,

Guess what?!?!?! I rolled over for the first time last night all by myself! Daddy and Mommy were so proud of me (I was proud of myself too ;-) ). Life is going great. I still love eating. :-) I like Daddy and Mommy to rock me too. For some reason my gums hurt a lot and I started drooling all over everying. Mommy says it is because I am teething, whatever that means. I like to be held and talked to. I will smile at anyone who stops to talk to me (unless I am being grumpy, which doesn’t happen very often). I like to laugh when people are being silly. I wonder if grown-ups know how silly they look when they are talking to me, especially Daddy and Mommy? They use silly voices, stick out there tongues and make funny noises. :-D It makes me laugh so hard.  I got a new swing! I love it!!! Mommy likes to put me in there when I am fussy while she is trying to cook dinner. I usually fall asleep in it. I almost forgot to tell you, at my last Doctor’s appointment I weighed 15lbs! Speaking of the Doctor, that guy likes to poke me, shine lights in my eyes and move me all around. I am still trying to decided if i like him, but Daddy and Mommy do, so I guess he is ok. Well, Mommy says it is time to go fix dinner, so that means swinging time for me. Yipee!

You all have a great day!

-Joshua

PS. Mommy entered my photo here, please go vote for me. :-)

Hi Everyone,

Andre and I were just talking about this last night over dinner and how important it is that we, as Christians, vote. I got this email from American Family Association and wanted to pass it on. :-)

Please vote! Our children’s future depends on it!

October 15, 2008

Dear Katrina,

In my 70 years, I have never seen an election where coverage was so one-sided and biased or where censorship by the liberal media was so widely practiced and where media coverage was so slanted as I have seen in this election process. Their plan is working. The only chance conservatives have is to make sure they care enough to vote.

If the liberals win the upcoming election, America as we have known it will no longer exist. This country that we love, founded on Judeo-Christian values, will cease to exist and will be replaced by a secular state hostile to Christianity. This “city set on a hill” which our forefathers founded, will go dark. The damage will be deep and long lasting. It cannot be turned around in the next election, or the one after that, or by any election in the future. The damage will be permanent. That is why it is so important for you to vote and to encourage friends and family to vote. This is one election where your vote really counts.

Sincerely,

Don

One Year

September 26th, 2008

On September 22nd, 2007 I was united in marriage with the most beautiful woman in the world. In the months previous, I had grown to love, respect, and cherish her more then I ever thought possible.

Andre and Katrina

The beginning of our journey together!

Now, a year later I am looking back over the most incredible year of my life. I am so honored, so blessed to be married to Katrina. She is the epitamy of the Proverbs 31 wife, a woman committed to God and her family and full of life. She is the sweetest and most loving wife a guy could ask for. To say our first year of marriage has been wonderful would be an understatement. It has had many adventures, a few challenges, and an overwhelming number of wonderful times, I could not be more blessed.

To my beautiful wife, I love you. You are a joy, and a treasure. I am so glad to be married to you, and so grateful for your friendship and companionship. I look forward to many more years together. I love you!

-Andre

New Pictures!

September 12th, 2008

Hello everyone!

Mommy put some new pictures up of me here! We had a photo shoot and it was a lot of fun! :-) She can be so silly sometimes and it makes me laugh! I am just growing so much and learning new things everyday. It was so good to see Grandpa and Grammy a few weeks ago and I am so excited about seeing Paps, NaNa and Auntie Katie on Sunday! Well, I am going to go back to talking and cooing at my toys. The are so much fun!

So, enjoy the pictures and we will talk again soon!
